How we rank
Last updated 7 October 2026
NextPair ranks shoes by how closely their published specs match the shoe you chose. Nothing else.
Never by commission
Some buy links earn us a commission. The ranking code cannot see commission, prices or retailers, and an automated test fails if anyone adds them. Prices for one shoe are listed cheapest first, then by retailer name.
What we compare
- Cushioning feel, where the brand describes it
- Heel stack height and drop
- Weight, as published
- Stability type, rocker, toe box and plate
Where a value isn't published for both shoes, we leave it out of the comparison rather than guess. A shoe with too few published specs isn't ranked.
Where the specs come from
Each value links to its source: the brand's own product page first, otherwise a named retailer (currently Running Warehouse). Retailers sometimes measure differently from brands, so you may see small differences. We never make specs up.
What we show
For your shoe we show the same shoe again, the previous version when it is in stock and cheaper, the newer version with what changed, and up to three similar shoes from different brands.
Prices
Prices come from retailer feeds and show the retailer and when they were checked. Prices older than 48 hours are hidden. Amazon is not included.
No health claims
We describe how shoes are built. We don't claim any shoe prevents injury or corrects how you run.
